This spring is a mash up of eclectic and mainstream, poppy beats, and sunshiny lyrics. This playlist will make every moment feel magical, whether you’re making breakfast, running errands the windows down, or hanging with friends on the patio...
It’s not over yet. We still have a few weeks left of summer… there’s still time for daytrips to the shore, pop-up beer gardens, and flying down the highway with the windows down belting out Hanson songs with your friends...

I come from a family of mosquito slapping, chicken raising, back porch sitting, kombucha tea sipping, rowdy hymn singers. We lived our summer months on the planks of wood outside out back door. In fact, to this day, when I visit in the summer my mother sets up a bed for me out on the porch. She knows full well that there is a slim chance of me sleeping indoors.
These songs are the perfect accompaniment to open windows, warm breezes, and garden parties. From now 'til summer, it's this. On repeat...
It won’t be long before the “Best Of” lists will begin appearing. Since Restoration Living is known as being ahead of the trends, it seems logical to put out one of these lists before we are all sick and tired of them.
Here are my favorite albums of the year so far – the 11 best records by female artists / female-fronted acts, ordered by release dates. (After all, Top Ten is so cliché!)
So much life happens on Saturday… Little League games, birthday parties and garage sales. For the last decade though, Saturday has been a day in the office for me. A long day to be sure, especially when it meant missing my kids soccer games, neighborhood block parties and friends weddings. I knew working on Saturdays was draining on me but I didn’t know how much until…it ended.

Life is busy one way or another. Sometimes it’s simply just been a long week and we’re ready for the weekend - that feeling of pages between your fingers or a slight refreshing breeze on your face… and that is the only soundtrack we need. Still, there are other times we need music alongside us, songs that are familiar and actually allow us to engage the present in a manner that simply feeds the soul in those dry times.

Three years ago we were approached by an older gentleman at a coffee shop. As young females, we didn't really know what to expect when he said hello and commented on our physical appearances. Little did we know there would be significant weight in his words that followed: "You ladies are beautiful...which means you have a fifty percent chance of doing good in the world." His comment was flattering, unexpected, and challenging all at the same time–and it still sticks with us now.

When we started writing songs together we were hungry to express our love for each other, and how we would conquer together all the barriers lovers face, to grow up and be ourselves both as individuals and as a team.
